'Real Simple' Designs Real Simple Home, 'Players Tribune' Debuts 'Truss Levelz' Podcast

The show must go on — at least for Real Simple’s annual Real Simple Home.

This year, the shelter magazine is hosting the event at The Marbury, a landmarked edifice on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. A duplex penthouse will feature design, products and DIY strategies from designers and Real Simple editors.

The 2020 Real Simple Home debuts in the October issue. On newsstands now, the magazine will host a virtual experience Oct. 1.

Sponsors Include Arm & Hammer AbsorbX Cat Litter, The Glad Products Company, The Home Depot and Kerrygold.

A shoppable hub on the magazine’s site lets readers purchase products in the virtual tour.

"Over the past few months, our houses have become more than just our homes. Our spaces have been transformed into classrooms, offices, gyms and more, which is no easy task in the midst of a global pandemic," stated Liz Vaccariello, Editor in Chief of Real Simple. "This year's Real Simple Home is here to celebrate all that encompasses our homes in 2020 and shows how our spaces can be both incredibly beautiful and extremely organized.”

The magazine also teamed with Win, which provides permanent support housing for NYC’s homeless families.

Designers who participated in Simple Home include Joy Cho, creative director of the lifestyle brand Oh Joy!; Jamie and Fillip Hord, founders of Horderly, furniture designer Roxy Te Owens, Rebecca Atwood, designer-artist, Kate Hamilton Gray, interior designer, Max Humphrey, home designer, Dayna Isom Johnson, trend expert for Etsy, and Katie Holdefehr, senior editor at RealSimple.com.

Separately, The Players' Tribune has launched “Truss Levelz,” a weekly podcast hosted by Mark Ingram and Cam Jordan, NFL stars and close friends.

The former New Orleans Saints teammates drill deep into players and events from football, music and gaming. The 10-episode podcast begins Sept. 23, interviewing New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

Pepsi will serve as the exclusive sponsor of “Truss Levelz.”

Additional guests will include Baltimore Ravens quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Alabama Football Heisman Trophy Winner Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans.

“From swapping stories about life on the road to breaking down who’s got the better Madden attributes, we’re excited to let these guys show fans there’s so much more to these players than what they see on the field or in their Fantasy Football scores,” noted Jordan.

“Truss Levelz,” the eighth podcast from the publication, is also available online at The Players’ Tribune website and various podcast services. It will be carried via video on The Players’ Tribune YouTube channel.
