Promote Iceland, a public-private marketing group promoting Icelandic companies in foreign markets, has tapped Havas Media Group as its media agency of record.

The assignment comes months after Promote Iceland named M&C Saatchi as its global advertising, PR, social and experiential agency to promote Icelandic tourism.

Terms and billings of the media assignment were not disclosed, but the account is awarded for a three-year term and includes media strategy and buying for North American and EMEA.

The business, which takes effect in the fourth quarter, will be serviced out of Havas’ Frankfurt and Miami offices.

Promote Iceland Director of Marketing Communications Sveinn Birkir Björnsson cited Havs Media’s “Mx framework,” as well as its focus on the agency’s “Meaningful Brands” research as factors in awarding the business.
