Commerce Shop The Stable Acquires RichContext

Commerce agency The Stable, based in Minneapolis, has acquired Arkansas-based e-commerce technology company RichContext.

Founded in 2016, RichContext’s digital technology solutions have helped clients including General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, Kimberly-Clark, and Hasbro boost their ecommerce capabilities. The firm is also a Walmart Connected Content Partner (CCP) and has helped the big box giant enhance the quality of product detail pages on Walmart.com.

The Stable said that the transaction, along with its merger earlier this year with Arkansas branding agency Kreative, would help strengthen its offering to support brands across both physical and digital retail, including the rise in social selling that has accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2019, RichContext released Hyphen, a shopping platform that provides brands a way to connect display and social media to commerce. The platform enables brands to create and manage online shopping destinations using data and optimization.

The Stable is known for introducing brands including oral-health company Quip, home security firm Ring, and women’s wellness brand Cora into retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon.

The combined company, operating under The Stable brand, will employ more than 150 people with offices in Minneapolis, Bentonville, Seattle, and Austin.
