Beyond Meat Plans Healthier Burger

Beyond Meat’s burger, launched in 2016, was modeled after a traditional beef burger, using an 80/20 split of plant-based protein and saturated fat from sources like coconut oil. The company is prepping the third generation of the Beyond Burger, with about 55% less saturated fat. Beyond says the number-one reason people eat meat alternatives isn’t for ethics or the environment, but for their health.
