Ad revenue at Barry Diller's IAC/Interactive Corp. surged to $83.5 million in the third quarter--up 958 percent from $7.9 million for the same period last year--thanks to the company's acquisition in
July of Ask Jeeves, the company reported Tuesday. Ask Jeeves' third-quarter revenue increased by 15 percent from the year before, mainly due to more queries. Overall, IAC profit fell 24 percent to 19
cents a share, from 24 cents a share last year; the company attributed the drop to deals, including spinning off the travel site Expedia.
