Crown Media Launches First Hallmark Brand AVOD Channel

Crown Media Family Networks is launching its first advertising video-on-demand (AVOD) channel, Hallmark Movies & More, on the advertising video-on-demand service, Xumo, which is own by Comcast.

Hallmark Movies & More will feature a lineup of over 120 titles from the company’s library of original content. Xumo offers over 200 digital channels of free premium programming across 12 genres.

Xumo said recently it has been averaging around 24 million active users since January, comparable to other similar AVOD services. ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV in November said it has 28.4 million users, while Fox Corp’s Tubi in August claimed 33 million users.

Xumo also has special live, linear, digital channels -- ABC News Live, Fox Soul, Deal or No Deal, beIN SPORTS XTRA, Free Kids TV, NBC News Now, and Black News.

Last month, Hallmark announced that its subscription video-on-demand service, Hallmark Movies Now, surpassed one million users.

On October 3, 2017, after a few brand iterations featuring the Hallmark-produced movies, the service was relaunched as Hallmark Movies Now. One month later, the service was available on Amazon Channels.
