Keith Poole Named EIC Of New York Post Group

Keith Poole, the deputy editor in chief of The Sun, will become the editor in chief of the New York Post Group in March, News Corp. announced today.

“I’ve always admired the bold and brash journalism of the New York Post, and to now be a part of this legendary organization is a dream come true for a journalist like me,” Poole stated.

He has served in his current position at The Sun since last February.  Previously, Poole was digital editor of the News Corp-owned UK tabloid since 2016.

Stephen Lynch, editor in chief for print at the New York Post, and Michelle Gotthelf, editor in chief for digital, will remain in their positions and report to Poole.

The New York Post Group is comprised of the New York Post, the Post Digital Network (including the NYPost.com, PageSix.com and Decider.com) and Post Studios.

Col Allan, a former editor in chief of the NYP, will retire in March. He has served as a senior adviser since 2019.

In News Corp’s earnings report for Q1 of fiscal year 2021, the company said ad revenues at the NYP increased 6%, with 22% growth in digital advertising. 

Launched in 1801, the New York Post is the oldest continuously published daily newspaper in the U.S.
