Omnicom Media Group (OMG) is promoting Sara Porritt to U.S. Chief Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Officer. The hire follows four years with OMG agency OMD USA, where she held a similar DE&I position, along with her role as senior director of integrated media planning.
Now, she will be responsible for deploying the shared Omnicom mission of attaining equal representation, development, support and retention of all underrepresented groups within OMG.
“At a time when advancing diversity, equity and inclusion has never been more imperative, it’s never been more important to have the right person leading this effort,” says Daryl Simm, CEO, OMG. “ As someone with the combined experience of building and leading diverse account teams, as well as assuring a culture of opportunity, support for the people on those teams, Sara is the right person.”

Porritt has been a longtime D&I advocate within the organization.
In addition to bringing diverse perspectives to deliver culturally relevant campaigns for clients, she worked to infuse D&I principles across the agency including communications, culture, mentoring, product development, recruitment and training and careers.
While at OMD, Porritt supported the agency’s participation in OMG’s Asian, Black and Latinx Leadership Networks. She also launched a corporate wellness program and led Culture Club, a national hub that connected all OMD regional offices for conversations around D&I-driven events, issues and celebrations.
Porritt is also on the board of the 4As Foundation supporting DE&I in the industry; and is a mentor for She Runs It, supporting career development for women in advertising.
She succeeds Justin Reyes, who moved to a senior D&I role with Major League Baseball.
