Email security firm Hornetsecurity has acquired Zerospam, a cloud-based email protection firm based in Montreal. Terms were not disclosed. 

This marks Hornetsecurity’s second acquisition this year: In January, it purchased Altaro, provider of a backup tool. 

Hornetsecurity hopes to “provide all organizations with a comprehensive security and compliance solution for their use of cloud technologies," states CEO Daniel Hofmann.

The firm, which has 300 employees, operates in over 30 countries through its channel partner network.

Zerospam offers cloud-based email security tools to the SMB market in North America. It serves 4,000 clients worldwide via its 400+ partners. 

Hornetsecurity will be “investing heavily in the Zerospam partner community and providing them with an expanded range of new products,” Hofmann adds.
