Florida Shareholder Would Put Up $100 Million In Tribune Publishing Bid

Mason Slaine, a minority shareholder in Tribune Publishing, is willing to commit $100 million in an effort to prevent Alden Global Capital from acquiring the company and its newspaper brands.  Slaine, who would be joining a bid being put together by Stewart Bainum, is interested in acquiring the Orlando Sentinel and the Sun Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
