New Agency Misfits Will Target Fast-Growing Esports Audience

Boca Raton-based professional esports and entertainment company Misfits Gaming Group has launched The Misfits Agency, an agency solely devoted to the esports audience and the brands that want access to them.

TMA bills itself as a “hyper-agile” content and influencer agency focused on Gen-Z content and gaming culture.

Amy Palmer has been tapped as president to run the new agency. She was previously Chief Content Officer at FaZe Clan, a Misfits Gaming competitor based in Los Angeles.

Palmer started her career as a producer at MSNBC, VH1 and MTV where she produced shows such as Total Request Live, Daria, MTV Hits, The MTV Beach House and The MTV Video Music Awards. She also hosted “New York 360'' that focused on NYC lifestyle and entertainment. She is also the CEO and founder of PowerwomenTV, a digital platform that focuses on women in business and lifestyle.

The agency has several projects in the works including a collaboration with Hasbro to help launch a new Nerf Blaster toy this summer. The agency is developing content with influencers that have about 10 million followers combined on TikTok and YouTube.

The agency is also working with fin-tech company SoFi which is looking to attract the next generation of investors who are active on trading sites like Robinhood. Projects include a “Shark Tank” like show for esports and other series designed to be sold to larger streaming platforms.

Misfits has also signed Jake Franklin (AKA Jake The Viking), who has millions of followers on YouTube and TikTok for future sponsored and branded content.

Ben Spoont, CEO of Misfits Gaming Group, says that “creating our own media agency marks the evolution of where our industry is heading - by offering brands and companies the opportunity to reach the most loyal audience in the world through authentic content and campaigns that create value for our players and content creators, the esports ecosystem and brands who want next-generation messaging.”

Misfit Gaming Group owns and operates a portfolio of esports teams across multiple global video games including Riot Games’ League of Legends European Championship, Epic Games’ Fortnite and Blizzard’s Overwatch League as well as the Florida Mutineers franchise in Activision-Blizzard’s upcoming Call of Duty League.
