McCormick To Pay $100,000 For 'Director Of Taco Relations'

Every day can be Taco Tuesday for one lucky taco lover. And it pays!

McCormick wants taco lovers 21 and over to submit a video and resume espousing their love of tacos for the chance to win the coveted position of Director of Taco Relations.

The gig lasts four months (Sept.-Dec.), is part-time (20 hours a week), and pays $100,000, plus assorted McCormick Taco Seasonings and other McCormick products.

The Director of Taco Relations will work with the McCormick brand team to develop recipes utilizing McCormick's Taco Seasoning mix, discover the latest taco trends and debate difficult decisions like hard shell or soft-shell tacos?

The winner will also travel the country to eat at famous taco restaurants, visit McCormick's global headquarters and kitchens to participate in a taco immersion course, and check out the latest McCormick Street Taco seasoning mixes currently in development.

McCormick is promoting the job through its landing page, and social media profiles: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Interested applicants must be U.S.-based and have until July 20 to submit a creative video that shows both their personality, storytelling skills, and love of tacos. Think taco puns, taco recipes, taco trivia, and the skillset that makes you an ideal candidate for the role. Previous taco-related job experience is unnecessary. The video must be under 2 minutes and 150 MB.

McCormick’s agency, Sunshine Sachs, is helping them sift through the initial applicants, but all finalists will be reviewed and interviewed by McCormick leadership across many divisions including Marketing Excellence, Brand, Kitchens, and Innovation, among others.

“While McCormick’s Taco Seasoning has been a best seller since the 1960s, households worldwide have significantly increased their cooking at home, especially of tacos, over the last year and a half,” said Jill Pratt, Chief Marketing Officer at McCormick. “Tacos are tasty, customizable, and easy to make and bring families and friends together over mealtimes. Hiring a Director of Taco Relations is a great way to help McCormick uncover the taco trends of tomorrow and continue to provide inspiration to fellow taco lovers.”
