Merkle CTO Jumps To Zeta Global, Company Demonstrates Continued Growth

Zeta Global, a cloud-based marketing company grounded in technology, has announced the appointment of Matthew Mobley as executive vice president of technology strategy.

"His expertise in data platforms, identity resolution, customer journey orchestration, activation, and analytics make him an incredible asset for our customers," co-founder David Steinberg stated.

Mobley comes to Zeta with more than 26 years of experience in general technology and more than 22 years of experience in marketing and advertising technology across Americas and EMEA.

Most recently, he served as CTO at the agency Merkle, where he led the Americas Technology Services Line.

Prior to that, Mobley built and led consulting organizations across the Americas and EMEA, serving as senior vice president of solutions consulting at Epsilon, as vice president of European Consulting and as the U.S. Marketing Technology Practice leader for Acxiom.

Mobley, who will lead Zeta’s CRM team advising customers on how best to leverage technology to meet their business goals, also served in the United States Air Force.

With co-founders David Steinberg and John Sculley behind the company, Zeta Global as worked to launch many high-tech services that integrate data and artificial intelligence, which is likely one aspect that attracted Mobley.

Earlier this month Zeta acquired the technology platform and data from Apptness, a digital technology company with proprietary audience engagement technology. Founded in 2015, Apptness operates a digital survey platform that provides the ability to engage consumers on sites across the open web, deliver proprietary insights and audiences to marketers, and provide publishers with new monetization opportunities.

The acquired platform will integrate into the Zeta Marketing Platform, supporting the Zeta Data Cloud with more than 45 million monthly “high fidelity” consumer signals.

The company also hired its first CMO this year, appointing Crystal Eastman to the position. Eastman joined Zeta from The Trade Desk, where she was head of global marketing and was responsible for global go-to-market strategies including product marketing, sponsorships and events, and global campaign activation.
