Emily Hochberg Named Editor Of Insider Travel

Insider has named Emily Hochberg as editor of Insider Travel, its newly redone vertical offering.

Hochberg led the travel coverage for Insider Reviews, Insider’s commerce content brand, for two years. She will lead a group of 20 travel experts who will spotlight destinations around the globe.

Hochberg and her team hope to be “your coolest ‘in-the-know’ traveler friend, the one who’s generously sharing their local secrets — from the best places to stay to the hole-in-the-wall restaurant gems that somehow have managed to fly below-the-radar,” Hochberg states.

Among the new enhancements is an “Explore the World” feature that will allow readers to search through more than 250 destinations to find inspiration for their next trip. They can click through a mosaic of images to access travel guides, advisories, reviews and recommendations.

The enhanced section delivers advice on destinations from a local perspective, Insider says.

United Airlines is the launch partner for Insider Travel, and will present stories of destinations it serves.

Before joining Insider, Hochberg served as managing editor for the travel app Porter & Sail. She also wrote and edited travel, lifestyle and entertainment content for outlets such as MTV, Scott’s Cheap Flights, FabFitFun, Xfinity, Secret Escapes, People magazine and Redfin.

Insider is the digital news brand launched in 2007 as Business Insider.
