The U.S. Supreme Court Monday agreed to hear whether eBay should be banned from using its "Buy It Now" feature, which another company, MercExchange, says it holds the patent on. The dispute dates back
to 2001, when MercExchange sued eBay for patent infringement. MercExchange won a ruling at trial in 2003, and largely prevailed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in March.
