Reeves Named President, Global Client Partner At GroupM's Essence

GroupM media agency Essence has appointed Anthony Reeves as president, global client partner. 

Based in Seattle, the agency said he will work with clients to “further integrate the agency’s practice areas of data, analytics, media strategy and creative.” Reeves will lead engagement across a small portfolio of the agency’s global clients. An agency rep said the specific clients “will be confirmed in the next few months.” 

Reeves is joining Essence after serving as managing partner at Courageous, where he consulted with Amazon, J&J, Hasbro and others on strategy, brand, creative and platform activation. 

“I grew up as a creative and have always found the best customer-centric work is delivered when media, brand, data and creative are fused together,” Reeves said.

Prior to his consulting work, Reeves was Chief Creative Officer at Wunderman Thompson Seattle, overseeing work for clients including Microsoft, T-Mobile, Amazon and L'Oreal. During his tenure there, he was also named Chief Strategy Officer for Wunderman Thompson Commerce, the agency’s eCommerce consultancy. 

Earlier, he was global director, creative at Amazon Media Group, the retail giant’s in-house agency. While there, he consulted CMOs, agencies and CEOs on delivering optimal customer experiences across all media channels and platforms. 

During his career, he has worked in creative leadership roles at agencies such as Publicis Groupe's Moxie, where he was Chief Creative Officer in North America, overseeing creative and developing the agency's user-experience practice. He also served in senior creative roles at Interpublic’s FCB, overseeing creative for clients Western Union, Netflix, AT&T, Chipotle, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Hyatt and Carnival Cruise Lines.
