In a turnabout, a major U.S. ad agency Tuesday opened a review for clients to pitch its services. Leo Burnett USA, the full-service ad sibling of Starcom USA, said it was opening a review inviting
"charitable brands" to pitch its pro bono advertising services. "Burnett is looking to grow a new or unknown entity into a powerful and recognized brand, putting its full range of marketing services
behind the partnership," said the agency, adding: "Interested organizations are encouraged to visit http://www.packagedgood.org to submit proposals for consideration. The deadline for proposals is
Dec. 20. The agency hopes to identify finalists for consideration by the first week of January 2006." It was unclear whether Starcom will be participating in the pro bono pitch. -- Joe Mandese
