'New Yorker' Publishes First Online-Only Edition, 'The New Yorker' Interviews'

The New Yorker this week is publishing its first-ever digital-only issue building on a popular online series that features in-depth conversations with people of note.

The edition was available on Monday with a series called “The New Yorker Interviews.” The collection of conversations include one that D. T. Max conducted with Stephen Sondheim in the last five years of the composer’s life, plus a conversation between New Yorker Editor David Remnick and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The release also includes a photo gallery featuring Elinor Carucci’s portraits of teenagers and Rebecca Mead’s interviews with Carucci’s young subjects about how their lives have been upended by the pandemic.
