Alfonso Marian has been appointed Global CEO and Chief Creative Officer for the Mediabrands Content Studio (MBCS), the unit formed in November 2020 that supports the content creation efforts for Mediabrands agencies, including UM, Initiative and Reprise.
Marian is tasked with spearheading MBCS’ planned expansion to 20 territories — from an initial focus on 12 markets — in the coming year.
He succeeds Brendan Gaul, who continues as Global Chief Content Officer at Mediabrands and Global President of Traverse32, the company’s film and television studio. Marian reports to Gaul.
Previously, Marian was chairman of Ogilvy Spain. Earlier, he was the agency’s global creative director for customer engagement-ecommerce. Over his career, he has received 25 Cannes Lions and three consecutive Cannes' Direct Agency of the Year awards.
