Hearst Magazines Names New CFO

Hearst Magazines on Tuesday named Regina Buckley as chief financial and strategy officer. Buckley will oversee the financial and strategic planning processes across the business.

Buckley had served as president of The Guardian News & Media’s North American division for the past two years. Before that, she was CFO of the division. During her time with The Guardian, she helped reimagine sales strategy and led the business through four consecutive years of top- and bottom-line growth, Hearst said in a press release.

“Regina brings outstanding financial and business acumen to her new role,” Hearst Magazines President Debi Chirichella said. “She has excelled as a leader in this rapidly evolving media industry, and her collaborative approach and ability to blend strategy and structure will play an integral role as we continue to build the future for Hearst Magazines.”

In all, Buckley brings more than 20 years of experience in media publishing to Hearst. Prior to joining The Guardian, she held several senior level roles at Time Inc., including general manager of the lifestyle group and senior vice president of digital operations and digital business development.

“Hearst has always been a transformational leader in the ever-evolving magazine media landscape thanks to its talented teams and the strong audience connection with its trusted brands,” Buckley said. “I am excited to help drive the company’s continued innovation and success.” Buckley will report to Chirichella and start her new job on April 26.

Tony:  I believe Regina Buckley fills the Hearst Magazines CFO vacancy created in 2020 when Debi Chirichella was promoted to HM president (making Buckley Chirichella's "successor"). But that was not reported in the Hearst Corp. press release.
