Supply-Side Startup ArcSpan Adds Another Demand-Side Vet, Taps OpenSlate's Burns To Lead Product

ArcSpan, a supply-side platform launched late last year by a team with intimate knowledge about the way the demand-side works, has added some more demand-side talent, adding a long-time media agency exec turned ad tech product developer as its head of product development.

Kathryn Burns, who had a long agency media services career at UM, Zenith, Carat and OMD before jumping to the ad tech side, joins as vice president-product.

Burns, who joins from DoubleVerify where she was the head of product, content standards and data for OpenSlate, will report to ArcSpan COO Chris Guenther.

ArcSpan was founded late last year by Arthur Muldoon and Garret Vreeland, who previously founded the first scalable independent trading desk, Accordant, which was ultimately acquired by Aegis Media (now Dentsu) and incorporated into the agency's proprietary trading platform Amnet.

At launch, Muldoon said ArcSpan's mission is to utilize all the knowledge about the way the demand-side works in order to make the supply-side work better.
