With continuing chip shortages prompting new and used vehicle demand to be at a historic high, American Honda is expanding its certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle lineup to include used Honda and Acura vehicles up to 10 years old.

Acura is the first luxury brand to offer certified used vehicles up to 10 years old. Both the Acura Precision Used and HondaTrue Used increase opportunities for young, first-time buyers, according to the automaker.

Both Honda and Acura vehicles include a limited warranty, complimentary oil change and roadside assistance. Honda’s come with a three-day exchange policy, while Acura offers a 7-day exchange option. 

Available exclusively at Honda and Acura dealerships, all of the certified used vehicles receive a thorough background and quality check that addresses any maintenance needs, including a downloadable checklist detailing the comprehensive 112-point inspection performed by a certified Honda or Acura technician.

Acura CPO sales are experiencing booming growth, achieving another new record in 2021 with double-digit gains. Acura is one of the fastest growing luxury brands in CPO sales with five straight years of increasing sales, recently overtaking Audi to become America’s #4 luxury CPO brand.

“Higher new vehicle prices make Acura Precision Used and Acura Precision Certified vehicles an even more critical gateway to luxury vehicle ownership for younger customers," said Dan Rodriguez, manager of auto remarketing at American Honda, in a release. 

Honda was America’s No. 2 best-selling CPO vehicle brand in 2021, despite severe inventory shortages. In 2020, Honda became the first mass automaker to offer branded used vehicles from dealer inventories on its consumer website.
