H&R Block Hires Jill Cress As CMO


H&R Block has hired Jill Cress as CMO, beginning May 2. Cress previously held the CMO position at PayPal for the past two and a half years.

“Jill is one of the premier strategic marketing leaders in the United States,” said Jeff Jones, H&R Block president & chief executive officer. “From acquisition and engagement strategies to digital experiences and brand storytelling, she has delivered revenue growth and cultural relevance for top global brands. I am thrilled to have her as part of Block’s leadership team and look forward to how she will amplify the growth and transformation work underway.”

At PayPal, Cress led the brand strategy and redesign for the PayPal and Venmo brands.

Prior to joining PayPal, Cress was the CMO for National Geographic Partners from July 2018 to August 2019. Before that, Cress worked at MasterCard for 23 years, a stint ending in February 2017.

Brad Iverson had held the title of CMO at H&R Block since 2003, according to Chief Marketer.
