Tall Tales: BK, BBH Have Fun At Former UK Prime Minister's Expense

Burger King had some fun with the long-anticipated resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday.

BK agency BBH quickly created a digital OOH ad on wheels stationed outside London’s Houses of Parliament that reads, “Turns Out There Is Such A Thing As Too Many Whoppers®”.

The copy is in the shape of the number 10 as in Downing Street, where the former Prime Minister and his minions frequently partied it up during the pandemic with reckless abandon. And denying it, of course.

The Whopper as you probably know is BK’s signature burger. But in Boris’ case it also refers to all the big fat lies he’s been telling throughout his career as journalist and politician, if the scores of pundits and UK politicos who’ve been commenting on the resignation in recent days are to be believed.

Reminds me of a certain U.S. politician. What’s his name again? He used to be on Twitter all the time.
