Uberall Partners With Amazon Alexa To Expand Voice Search

Uberall has formed a partnership with Amazon Alexa to help brands and businesses connect with customers using the voice assistant.

The partnership uses Uberall’s CoreX platform to allow Alexa to easily recommend Uberall customers to users of the voice activation devices based on their requests and questions. For Uberall clients, it ensures that the most comprehensive and up-to-date information about their business is available on the largest voice-assistant service on the market.

“Voice Search is becoming more of a relevant and increasingly popular form of searching for local businesses,” Liz Sinclair, director of product partnerships at Uberall, wrote in an email to Search & Performance Marketing Daily.

The deal ensures that the most comprehensive and up-to-date information about local businesses can be found through Alexa.



Voice Search is becoming increasingly relevant and popular when it comes to searching for local businesses. Currently, 40.2% of the U.S. population uses voice features, according to Uberall -- which focuses on customer experiences -- citing eMarketer data. 

Uberall used its CoreX platform to form a custom integration. Customers send their verified and cleansed data directly to Alexa.

Shared data includes locations, contact information, hours of operation, descriptions, business categories, menus, services and more.

The company believes the partnership will increase the reach of Uberall businesses, since Amazon has a dominant share of the U.S. market for smart speakers -- accounting for over two-thirds of devices sold from the summer of 2017 to 2021.

In addition, the company’s decision to invest in voice activation is largely due to changing consumer and household habits, as approximately 40% of the U.S. population uses voice-search features according to eMarketer

As a result of this partnership, Alexa will highlight companies that choose to do business with Uberall each time a consumer uses their voice to search for information, as well as incorporate the businesses' most up-to-date information globally.
