Ad pages in the top 35 in-flight magazines--publications distributed by air carriers--soared 21 percent through the first 11 months of 2005 versus the same period in 2004, according to an analysis
released Thursday by Pace Communications, publisher of
Sky, Hemispheres, and
US Airways magazines. Direct consumer magazine competitors to the in-flight titles experienced significant
erosion in ad pages during the same period, including
Fortune (-10 percent) and
Forbes, and
Travel+Leisure (both down more than 4 percent).
