Ogilvy Puts Curry In Charge Of IBM Creative

Ogilvy has named Matthew Curry Global ECD for IBM.

Curry is charged with defining the global creative vision for EightBar, a WPP team that handles creative and media solely for IBM.

Previously, he was Deputy Chief Creative Officer at McCann New York, leading the Verizon account.

Before McCann, Matthew was Partner and Chief Creative Officer of independent creative agency Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners in San Francisco. He also worked at 72andSunny in Los Angeles, where he and his teams were nominated for an Emmy for their Google Year in Search work.

Ogilvy has been IBM’s global creative partner for almost 30 years. Its latest campaign is “Let’s create.”

IBM was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame this year, the first B2B brand to achieve this status.

Liz Taylor, Global Chief Creative Officer, said Curry will help produce “a new period of game-changing, legacy-making work that brings to life the technological innovations that are creating the fabric of our reality.  … a belief that creativity will be the defining currency of business moving forward and driver of impact in the world.”

Ogilvy is a WPP company.
