Elon Musk has been known to stir things up on Twitter -- and he did just that Tuesday night, tweeting that he intended to buy the Manchester United soccer team. But
it was just a joke. “Musk tweeted that he would buy the club around 8 p.m. ET,” per Sports Illustrated. “Over four hours later he confirmed that he was kidding, calling it a
‘long-running joke on Twitter.’” Musk’s tweet could attract regulatory attention because Manchester United is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
