Airbnb is running a new campaign celebrating its Categories feature. For the uninitiated, Categories sorts Airbnb’s 20,000 rentable properties by categories like “OMG!” and “Caves.”
In a series of spots, developed in-house, Airbnb highlights different categories. One spot chronicles a mother and her daughter who left Chicago for a stay in the country. The ad, scored to Dee Dee Sharp’s “Mashed Potato Time,” details how the family enjoyed properties in Idaho under the OMG category, including one that looks like potato.
“There was even a cow named Dolly who lived on the property and loved to eat glazed donuts, really. It provided the perfect cozy stay for these best spuds,” the writeup on YouTube explains.
Other spots in the series include “Caves,” which follows a group of friends who rented cave homes in Boulder, Utah -- and uses the theme from “The Flintstones” as its score.
