Georges Direct, a Triangle-based advertising agency, is launching Adelante Hispanic Marketing one of the few agencies in the Southeast -- and in North Carolina -- that focuses exclusively on the U.S.
Hispanic market. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of Hispanics reached 35.3 million in the year 2000 representing almost 13 percent of the country's total population and bumping
non-Hispanic whites from the majority in some of our nation's largest cities. In the South, Hispanics made up 11.6% of the population and in North Carolina, the Hispanic population doubled from 1990
to 1999. In Raleigh alone, this population grew 557% and Charlotte experienced 614% growth by the year 2000.
