Arbitron Reorganizes, Preps For Commercialization of PPM

Arbitron Wednesday said it is reorganizing its senior management team in an effort to "speed the commercialization" of its portable people meter ratings service. Owen Charlebois was named president-operations, technology, research and development, and will focus on Arbitron's traditional diary-based radio ratings. He was president-U.S. media services. Pierre Bouvard was named president-sales and marketing, with responsibility for selling both the portable people meter and Arbitron's existing services. He was president-portable people meters and international. Linda Dupree, senior vice president-portable people meter new product development, will continue to oversee the development of market research services based on the Portable People Meter technology, as well as heading up Arbitron's contribution to "Project Apollo" the joint effort with VNU. -- Joe Mandese
