Microsoft Touts Power, Versatility Of Surface Laptop 5 In New Ad

Microsoft touts its new Surface Laptop 5 and its power and versatility in a new ad from McCann.

The advertisement showcases the features of the Surface Laptop 5, and says it has “up to 50% more power” (thanks to the Intel Evo platform with 12th Gen Core) and “a super-quiet keyboard with whisper quiet typing.”

Other features include “a precision tuned touchpad,” and “our most responsive touchscreen.”

The ad follows Microsoft's Surface launch event on Oct. 12, in which Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 9, the Surface Laptop 5, the Surface Studio 2+ and a deal with Apple in which the Apple Music app will be able to perform on the Xbox platform.

Although the ad does not cite them, prices for the new model begin at $1,000 for a model with a 13.5-inch screen and $1,200 for a model with a 15-inch screen.

As Engadget notes, it’s a “pretty minimal refresh” when compared to the previous version.

Still, if consumers are looking for a machine with Windows 11, this ad makes a good case for the Surface 5.
