Tech giant Salesforce has laid off roughly 90 people -- reportedly the first layoffs this year -- shortly after holding its Dreamforce conference, sfgate.com reports. 

Most of those affected were contractors in the firm’s recruiting department, the report states. 

In addition, the company has seen a hiring freeze through January 2023. 

“While limited hiring continues, most departments have reached their hiring goals for the fiscal year,” a company spokesperson said in a statement to Protocol. The company later added: "As a result, we have ended contracts with some temporary recruiting contractors." 

The company has posted fiscal 2022 revenue of  $26.5 billion -- a 25% increase YoY, according to the sfgate.com report.
