McDonald's Launches Limited Edition Sandwiches

McDonald’s is launching two limited-edition menu items for the fall, a Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese and an Oreo Fudge McFlurry.

The launch comes about a year since McDonald’s launched the sandwich at select locations in Maryland, according to ChewBoom.

This year, the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder will drop at participating McDonald’s beginning Nov. 21 and will be on hand until supplies last. McDonald’s hasn’t announced pricing, but ChewBoom reported last year that the item was on sale in Bethesda, Maryland., for $6.89 for a single.

The Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder isn’t quite the first sandwich that McDonald’s has introduced since the pandemic started in early 2020. Early this year, McDonald’s introduced the Crunchy Double, a McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger with Chicken McNuggets and Barbecue sauce; the Land, Air & Sea, a Big Mac with added McChicken and Filet-O-Fish; and Surf + Turf, a Double Cheeseburger with components from the Filet-O-Fish.

McDonald’s also tested a Chicken Big Mac this past summer. Of course, McDonald’s other big sandwich launch was McPlant, a vegan collaboration with Beyond Meat, but McDonald’s ended that test in July.

The other big launch during the pandemic was the 2021 debut of the Crispy Chicken Sandwich in original, spicy and deluxe, with lettuce and tomato.

In addition, McDonald’s has launched a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Happy Meal. Each Happy Meal features one of 10 Wakanda Forever superhero toys based on characters from the movie, including Okoye, Shuri, Ironheart and Namor.
