VTDigger, reportedly Vermont’s largest newsroom, has promoted Paul Heintz as editor-in-chief and Maggie Cassidy as managing editor.
They will lead a team of 24 reporters, photographer and editors.
The announcement was made by Jim Welch, interim exective director.
VTDigger founder Anne Galloway stepped down as editor-in-chief and executive director of VTDigger’s parent organization the Vermont Journalism Trust in May, and is now editor-at-large, VTDigger reports.
According to VTDigger, the nonprofit will now be led by a chief executive officer who will oversee business operations. The editor-in-chief will run the VTDigger newsroom, reporting to the CEO.
The product serves more than 600,000 readers each month.
