Pinterest TV's First Shop The Holidays Event Launches

It won't be long before we deck the halls in holiday decorations. Pinterest TV on Monday launched its first Shop the Holidays event, made possible with shoppable content from brands such as JENNY BIRD, Wayfair, NUDESTIX, and others.

This week, from Tuesday through Friday, the company said Pinterest TV will showcase 10 hours of live programming each day in which brands will provide gift guides, announce discounts, and have flash sales with help from a shopping toolbox that enable live shopping experiences.

Consumers for four days will have the ability to shop from the Pinterest TV episode, get exclusive access to product drops and deals in time for the holidays and ask questions via chat, which the host will answer live.

Each 10-hour day of programming will focus on a specific vertical.

To use Pinterest TV, consumers can click the TV icon in the upper left corner of the Pinterest app to view episodes, interact with hosts, ask questions via chat, and shop products you like, live or anytime you want.

Pinterest TV launched in November 2021.

“On Pinterest, shopping is about inspiration and over time, we expect to make every product that a user encounters on Pinterest, shoppable,” says Nadine Zylstra, global head of programming and original content at Pinterest.

Zylstra says Pinterest TV is the next iteration of the company’s vision to enhance shopping surfaces and help Pinners find products, and believes that Pinterest TV makes this experience even more personal.

As part of the launch, Pinterest TV announced the expansion into Canada. Tastemade, a global partner of Pinterest, kicks off its Canadian programming during Shop the Holidays on Pinterest TV.

Tastemade will host programming dedicated to food and home days, to help Pinners get ready for the holiday hosting season.

Publishers are also leveraging the opportunity to share curated gift guides. This year, Glamour, Allure, Apartment Therapy, Tastemade and The Kit will host Pinterest TV episodes. The week of programming will also feature financial wellness tips with Bank of America.
