Domino's Delivery Cars Get Hit By Lightning

Domino’s is planning to make delivery better in 2023, not by adding toppings to its pizzas, but by rolling out new electronic vehicles.

This ad, via WorkInProgress, shows Domino’s delivery vehicles getting charged up by lightning during a storm. Charging the cars adds the chain’s red, white and blue logo.

Domino’s website says there are already 148 EVs on the road with another 881 coming by the end of 2023.

The chain is buying 800 Chevy Bolt EVs to make its fleet more climate-friendly.  Domino’s has previously set a goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Domino’s also delivers pizzas via an e-bike delivery program in major cities like Baltimore and Miami, according to CNBC.

Rival Pizza Hut is also working with ElectraMeccanica’s SOLO Cargo Group to deliver pizza via SOLO Cargo EVs by the end of this year, according to GlobalFleet.
