“The ongoing growth of the digital publishing market, despite increased strain on spending power, is a reflection of the tenacity of publishers and a strong online market,” states Dan Ison, lead partner for telecommunications, media and entertainment at Deloitte.

Ison continues, “Recruitment classified channels remained the biggest performer this quarter as employers continued to use their digital platforms as a key tool to attract talent. Meanwhile, it is the sustained growth of display advertising and subscriptions that represents the fierce appetite for digital content. It is clear that consumers are still willing to pay for top-tier content, even with squeezed budgets, which paints a positive outlook for publishing.”

The report is based on a survey of 12 UK digital publishers, eight specializing in B2C publishers and four in B2B.
