Shape has launched its first digital magazine—a quarterly that will expand the title’s daily wellness coverage into a magazine-style package of articles.
The first issue, dubbed "The Motivation Issue," examines the science of motivation.
“For Shape’s very first digital issue (!!), we wanted to tackle motivation from all angles, including the people, methods, and psychology that play a role,” writes Editorial Director Alyssa Sparacino, in an opening editorial.
The cover features Ashley Park, start of the Netflix series "Emily in Paris," who shares how beating cancer as a 15 year-old drove her own motivation. The issue also provides practical tips from Park's Pilates instructor, Brandon Perry.

"When it came time to choose a theme for our first digital issue, the answer was a no-brainer," Sparacino states.
It was not known at deadline if other such digital magazines are in the offing.
The Shape website, Shape.com, provides workouts for all fitness levels, beauty and skin-care advice, mental health information and sexual wellness insights. Shape claims that its library of more than 11,000 stories reaches over 7 million monthly readers,
Shape parent Dotdash Meredith is apparently facing economic headwinds: It recently reported that pro forma revenue fell by 27% in November, with digital revenue falling by 16% and print by 35%.
