Amazon Rolls Out New Ad-Supported Content To U.S. Fire TV Customers

With more viewers choosing free and ad-supported content in lieu of increasing subscription prices, Amazon has announced that U.S. users of its line of Fire TV microconsoles will now have access to tens of thousands of music videos from major and indie labels for free, as well as new ad-supported content.

The company began rolling out these offerings on Tuesday, which will feature artists on the Billboard Hot 100, including Taylor Swift, Drake, Harry Styles, Lizzo, Karol G, and Luke Combs.

There will also be a back catalog of classics from any genre, the company says, adding that new content will be added daily, expanding the collection of music videos.

No sign-ups, subscriptions, or fees are required from Fire TV customers, who will also find personalized recommendations based on their likes and viewing history.

Users can create their own mixes, choose from pre-made playlists, and have unlimited music-video skips with the option to play a continuous stream of suggested music videos.

Users can access this new library of music videos by speaking into the Fire TV remote -- “Alexa, find Music Videos.”

The newly available ad-supported content includes business and finance news from publications like Bloomberg, The Street, and CNBC, as well entertainment news from brands like E! News and Mixable.

Customers can also now watch game previews and trailers, gaming news, developer interviews, how-to’s, esports and more from IGN, ESTV, and Crown Channel, as well as the addition of viral videos from popular channels like Always Funny Videos, FailArmy, People Are Awesome and The Pet Collective.
