Washingtonpost.com Earns Murrow Award

Washington Post Co.'s washingtonpost.com has won an Edward R. Murrow award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association. The news property is the first non-broadcast media organization to win the award. "We are proud to be the first non-broadcast organization to win one of the most prestigious national media awards," said Caroline Little, CEO and publisher of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, in a statement. "We are lucky to be associated with a great media company, and thankful to have such a smart and innovative group of people working at our Web site. It is truly gratifying to receive this recognition for our team's effort to offer the most compelling and creative online journalism." The criteria for winning the award included "creativity, clarity, storytelling techniques, and use of audio, video or other Internet technologies."
