TaxSlayer Kicks Fear Of Filing In New Spots

TaxSlayer has a new campaign to highlight tax season. "File Fearlessly" suggests that Tax Slayer,  rated No. 1 on Trustpilot in the tax-prep software category,  empowers millions to view tax filing with confidence.

The Party Land agency created two spots — "Refund Tree" and "Boss Level" — to underscore the joy of getting a refund from the government. The target is a general audience, looking for the most seamless and cost-efficient way to do their taxes.

The 30-second spots are airing across OTT platforms throughout the first quarter of this year.

In "Refund Tree," a woman cuts down a “refund tree,” covered in cash, that grew on her yard. In "Boss Level," another woman is transported inside her daughter’s video game, where she defeats the “refund boss” and secures her goal: a maximum refund.

Most people approach taxes with anxiety and trepidation, unsure if they are doing them right.

TaxSlayer, founded in 1965, says its tools will make the experience a smoother one, navigating a difficult process. The campaign's goal is to make tax filers feel empowered that they can file — and secure a refund when possible — without fear. It's also a free service.

Matt Rogers, creative director, Party Land: "The idea of a final boss that stands between you and your tax return felt like the perfect adversary to pick up and insert into this evolution in the "File Fearlessly" campaign."

Party Land's client work includes Dave's Hot Chicken, NBA Top Shot, Netflix and Liquid Death.
