Berner Bolts, Conde Nast Restructures Fairchild

Mary Berner, head of Conde Nast's Fairchild unit and publications such as Jane, Details, and WWD, has resigned. Berner, group president of Fairchild since 1999, will leave at the end of the month to pursue other business ventures. With Berner's resignation, Charles Townsend--president and CEO of Conde Nast Publications--will now oversee Jane, Details, and Cookie, while Mitchell Fox--a group president of Conde Nast Publications--takes over the Fashion & Retail Trade Groups (including WWD, DNR, and Footwear News) as well as W magazine and the Conde Nast Bridal Group. Fox, who reports to Townsend, will also continue to oversee The Golf Digest Publications. Before joining Fairchild, Berner was vice president and publisher of Glamour magazine.
