Gmail is rolling out its package-tracking feature — at least on Android and iOS.
Google promised this capability last November. But as PC World observes: “That feature didn’t materialize in time to help with the deluge of holiday parcels, but it is now live at last.”
Unfortunately, it is not (yet) available on desktop. But app users can get dynamic reminders about delivery status on their phones.
Users will see a “Track your packages in Gmail” card at the top of their inbox, according to 9to5 Google.
“This new Gmail package tracking shows when a delivery is arriving directly in the inbox view underneath an email,” 9to5 Google says. “There’s a truck icon and “Arriving [date]” in green.”
Google also states that its new user interface is “rolling out for scheduled release domains, with anticipated completion by February 3, 2023. This will become the standard experience for Gmail, with no option to revert to the original UI.”
