Editors Use AI To Research And Produce Articles In Test

The Arena Group Holdings Inc., a company that helps brands like Sports Illustrated, Men’s Journal, TheStreet and Parade deliver content, has formed strategic partnerships with two artificial intelligence firms, Jasper and Nota.

The purpose is to further drive AI-assisted content workflows, video creation, newsletters, sponsored content and marketing campaigns for media brands.

Jasper is an AI platform that helps teams accelerate content workflows: The Arena Group says it will integrate Jasper’s product suite and add Jasper’s API to build generative AI processes.

For example, Men’s Journal used the technology for Its Men’s Fitness section. Automatically leveraging 17 years of archives, the editors were able to produce such articles as “Proven Tips to Help You Run Your Fastest Mile Yet,” “The Best Ways for Men Over 40 to Maintain Muscle,” and “A Primer on Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss.”

The editors could query a chatbot trained on the proprietary content to produce text and curate relevant photos, the Arena Group says.

Overall, the article test demonstrated strong page views, search and social referral, RPM metrics and revenue performance, increasing workflow efficiencies by more than 10 times the normal rate, the company claims.

“While AI will never replace journalism, reporting, or crafting and editing a story, rapidly improving AI technologies can create enterprise value for our brands and partners,” states Ross Levinsohn, Chairman and CEO of The Arena Group.
