Service Allows Readers To Break Paywalls, Access Articles

Zette has launched a service to provide readers with behind-the-paywall access to articles from over 100 publications.  

The“Spotify for news” service is designed for Gen Z and millennials who do not typically pay for content, the company says.

The service starts at $9.99 per month for 30 article credits. There is a 30-day free trial available. 

Zette recently closed licensing deals with Forbes, McClatchy, Boone Newspapers, New Scientist, and Haaretz,

And it offers access to the Sacramento Bee, Miami Herald, Washington Daily News and other prominent publications.

Users who sign up for an account can install a browser extension on desktop and use it to browse and unlock paywalled digital content.

Partnering newsrooms receive payment from each article view.

“Our credit-based pricing allows readers to unlock the articles that spark their interest, all while ensuring journalists are paid for every click,” the company says on its website..

The company was co0ounded in 2020 by Yehong Zhu.
