Aflac Adds Coaches To March Madness Roster

Aflac is adding coaching legends Mike Krzyzewski and Dawn Staley to its roster of G.O.A.T.'s for the brand’s 2023 March Madness campaign.

The campaign ads will build upon the brand’s college football spots starring G.O.A.T.’s Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders and Coach Nick Saban where the two new coaches will translate for the Aflac Duck and its nemesis, the Gap Goat, reminding fans that Aflac helps with expenses health insurance doesn’t cover.

Krzyzewski, better known as Coach K, served as the head coach at Duke University from 1980 to 2022, during which he led the Blue Devils to five national titles and 13 Final Fours. Staley is Hall of Fame player and coach who is currently the head coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

In collaboration with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and Staley, the brand is launching “Dawn’s List” which outlines the real issues female athletes face beyond the basketball court.

Focused on three categories -- resource equity, fan experience, and community engagement -- the list aims to raise awareness of the gaps in women’s college basketball and stems from the brand's previously announced commitment to increase funding and drive impact for women players.

Fans at the Women’s Final Four in Dallas, Texas can experience an on-site activation at Tourney Town, “Help Beat the Gap,” open to fans March 30 to April 2 at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

The experience brings to life the obstacles Americans face when recovering from an unexpected medical incident and reinforces how Aflac helps close gaps.
