Nine-time motorcycling World Champion Valentino Rossi has entered the metaverse with the launch of Moto-Island on Roblox. Created by Rossi’s own metaverse-dedicated ecommerce company VR46 Metaverse, and metaverse studio Dubit, Moto Island offers a multiplayer racing experience. 

According to a recent statement, Rossi personally selected Roblox -- a metaverse gaming platform with over 50 million daily active players -- because of “its importance in the gaming landscape and its power to reach players in fun, engaging ways.”

Moto Island, VR46 Metaverse’s first foray into virtual worlds, was built to be accessible and customizable, the company says. 

Players will find an open world environment filled with cities, countryside, snow-capped peaks, oceanside roads, forests and race tracks that allow up to 30 racers to ride dozens of bikes with thousands of appearance and performance upgrades, including user-generated content items like leathers, helmets, and companions to ride with. 

“Interacting and communicating with my fans has always been a key aspect throughout my career and now it's so exciting being able to do the same with younger generations through Roblox,” says Rossi.

Over the coming months, Rossi’s team says it plans to introduce new content and events into Moto Island.
