Study Reveals The States Most Likely To Use AI

The states most likely to use artificial intelligence are not California and New York, as you might expect.

Utah is the state where AI is most widely used, based on Google keywords data, according to an analysis by AI-driven website builder YACSS.

The study examines the search terms most frequently used by people interested in AI.

In Utah, the most likely use for AI is art, followed by voice generator (generating human voices for games/films). The third use is music, animation and resume writing.

Second is Oregon. Like Utah, Oregon uses AI most for art, then voice generator, music, animation and resume writing.

The top 10 states and the number of monthly searches per 100,000 people are as follows:

  1. Utah:                 202.91
  2. Oregon:             192.21
  3. Washington:       187
  4. Vermont:            173.08
  5. Colorado:           170.03
  6. Alaska:              169.03
  7. New Hampshire: 164.13
  8. Idaho:               159.87
  9. Wyoming:          158.24
  10. Maine:               156.64

California ranks 12th, with 150.14, while New York is 37th, with 115.20 monthly searches.

The lowest-scoring state is Mississippi, with 74.14 monthly searches.

AI is “frequently used to reduce time spent on tedious tasks as well as provide users with endless creative possibilities, and this is all available at the touch of a button," says a YACSS spokesperson. “The most recent surge in popularity of ChatGPT has caused millions of Americans to use the tool in everyday life, introducing them to AI.”
