BK Jingle Hits Big

Burger King’s “Whopper Whopper” jingle is a hit, credited with drawing younger consumers to its restaurants and giving it a presence on Spotify and Tik Tok.

"I'm optimistic about the trajectory of sales in 2023," said U.S. and Canada Burger King president Tom Curtis in an interview with Reuters, adding that the jingle's fervent success was "unanticipated."

Burger King introduced the jingle in February via OKRP as part of its broader “You Rule” campaign.

So far, the results are encouraging. It is popular on TikTok and on Spotify, and its video has been streamed more than 3 million times. On YouTube, the "Whopper Whopper" jingle ad racked up 8 million views.

The ad has been in heavy rotation during sporting events. “This is all you hear after your team is getting destroyed on national TV,” wrote one YouTube fan. “10 years after this masterpiece, it's still gonna be a banger and it will become more nostalgic,” wrote another.

The campaign comes as BK has worked with franchisees to rejuvenate the chain. “What’s happened in the last six months is that sense of ‘We’re in this together’ that we have with our franchisees. I think it’s unique in the business, and I think that differs from what you see from some of the competition as well,” Burger King U.S. president told CNBC.
